What Sets Us Apart?
We believe children CAN do, before thinking they CANNOT;
We believe children want to be responsible members of the home and classroom;
We believe our role is to guide them, as well as care for them.
Our Philosophy
Mini Skool’s Infant/Toddler Montessori classroom provides learning opportunities which allow each child to work at their own pace. This encourages the development of self-confidence, self-control, and independence.
At Mini Skool, we are knowledgeable of the stages of development for Infants and Toddlers, and offer appropriate activities using Montessori materials, and other developmentally appropriate educational materials that enhance sensorial development, spatial awareness, gross and fine motor development.
We recognize the sensitivity of infants. Our teachers offer the tenderness, warmth, and patience that are so essential at this age. An emphasis on the importance of a peaceful environment, with the necessary nurturing and caring, is a strong characteristic of this program.
The Infant/Toddler Curriculum and Lessons with the Teacher
At Mini-Skool there are six main areas of the curriculum. Infants will be exposed in time to:
- learning practical life skills
- building sensory impressions
- developing language and social skills
- developing motor skills and spatial awareness
- cognitive development
- art and music are also explored
In the beginning, the focus will be on social activities, auditory and visual activities, motor development, and eye-hand coordination.
